MATRIX'S FIRST VISIT
October 25, 1998
Photos by Mohabee, comments by Matrix

The DISCOVERY Hike!
Mohabee took these photos during my first visit to Starland. 'Same visit as in the previous set of photos.
This canyon is at the upper end of the wash not far from Starland, where it turns into a narrowing passage with steep rock formation walls. No vehicles may fallow past a certain point and the turf gets even more interesting as you hike further in.

Hikers head towards the canyon.

Going into the canyon with David, John, and Russel.
The great wash that surrounds Starland meanders up into the higher rocky paths where no vehicles can fallow. The canyon walls are sometimes high steep pure rock formations.

Hiking Matrix
Sand, rocks, hills... great fun to hike.

Stopping a wild Tarantula... cool!
Matrix must take some pictures of the critter.

The ridge shields Starland. The main entry road comes in from the other side.

This pic probably isn't part of this set, but ain't it pretty?
